This Privacy Policy explains how Louakal Logistics ("LKL", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use the Louakal Logistics mobile application (the "App") available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
By creating an account, accepting these terms, or using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
1. Data Controller
Louakal Logistics (LKL) is the data controller responsible for your personal information collected through the App.
We collect information necessary to operate our freight-matching marketplace and connect Shippers with Carriers.
2.1 Account & Profile Information
First and last name
Email address
Phone number (verified via one-time password / SMS)
Password (stored in encrypted form)
Country of residence
Profile photo (optional)
User role (Shipper or Carrier)
2.2 Identity & Verification Documents (Carriers)
To verify Carrier accounts, we may collect copies of:
Government-issued identity documents (national ID or passport)
Professional driver's license
Vehicle registration certificate
Proof of vehicle ownership or authorized lease
Commercial motor vehicle insurance policy
Commercial register or freight operator license
Vehicle photos and descriptions (brand, model, color, capacity)
2.3 Location Information
LKL is a location-based service. With your permission, we collect precise GPS location data from your device, including:
Your current latitude and longitude while using the App
Pickup and delivery coordinates for shipments
Real-time location during active deliveries (for Carriers)
Historical route and geolocation logs associated with orders
Location access is required to match nearby Carriers with Shippers, calculate pricing, display maps, and track deliveries. You may disable location permissions in your device settings, but core features of the App will not function without them.
2.4 Order & Shipment Data
Pickup and delivery addresses
Shipment details, pricing, and payment method
Order status, timestamps, and reference numbers
Ratings, reviews, and complaint messages
2.5 Device & Technical Information
Device type, operating system, and app version
Unique device identifiers
IP address
Push notification token (FCM token)
App usage logs, crash reports, and server logs
Language and notification preferences
2.6 Communications
Messages sent through in-app support or complaint features
Customer service correspondence via email
3. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
Create and manage your account
Verify Carrier identity and vehicle eligibility
Match Shippers with nearby available Carriers
Calculate and display shipping prices
Process, track, and complete freight orders
Send push notifications about order updates, invitations, and account activity
Provide customer support and resolve disputes
Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or illegal activity
Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests
Improve, maintain, and secure the App and our Services

4. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA / UK Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases under the GDPR:
Contract performance: to provide the Services you request
Legitimate interests: fraud prevention, platform security, service improvement, and dispute resolution
Legal obligation: compliance with applicable transport, tax, and regulatory requirements
Consent: where required for location tracking, push notifications, or optional marketing communications
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:
Between users: Shippers and Carriers receive information necessary to complete a delivery (e.g., name, phone number, pickup/delivery location, vehicle details)
Service providers: trusted third parties that help us operate the App, including:
Google Maps Platform – map display, geocoding, and route calculation
Google Firebase / Cloud Messaging – push notifications and app infrastructure
Cloud hosting and database providers
SMS/OTP verification providers
Legal & safety: when required by law, court order, or government request; to protect the rights, property, or safety of LKL, our users, or the public; or to investigate prohibited goods or fraudulent activity
Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to continued protection of your data
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. After account deletion, we may retain certain data for:
Legal, tax, and regulatory compliance (typically up to 7 years for financial records)
Dispute resolution and enforcement of our agreements
Fraud prevention and platform safety
Geolocation logs and order records may be retained as electronic evidence as described in our Terms & Conditions.
7. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encryption of passwords, secure server infrastructure, and access controls. No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
Access: request a copy of personal data we hold about you
Rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete data
Erasure: request deletion of your account and personal data
Restriction: request limited processing in certain circumstances
Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format

To exercise these rights, email privacy@louakallogistics.com or delete your account through App Settings. We will respond within 30 days (or as required by applicable law).

You may request deletion of your account at any time through the App settings or by contacting privacy@louakallogistics.com. Account deletion is subject to settlement of any outstanding fees or active deliveries. Some data may be retained as described in Section 6.

The App is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly.
11. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
